Book Week Parade

Everyone went to a lot of effort with their costumes this year. We had a lot of star war characters, characters from The Faraway Tree, Fairy tale and even a few Zac Powers. Well done eveyone. 

A Busy Time

There has been a lot happening in our classrooms this week. We loved walking down to St Leonards Square to find some leaves to make our writing more interesting. The massage circle was a lot of fun and Ava did a   job reading the book for us at the same time.

Wheel Day for Discovery

Everyone enjoyed whizzing around the school on Friday on their scooters,  rollerblades, skateboards and bikes. It is often that you get to zoom around the school field on your bike. 

Fun learning about measurement

Thanks Keri for helping us use the metre rulers to measure how tall we are. We also did activities with handspan rulers, covering books with different sized squares and ordering objects depending on how heavy they were.

Buddy Class

We managed to get together with our buddies yesterday to have a lesson on using a keyboard. The buddies introduced us to a typing programme that will teach us how to type quicklly.

Science Alive Lesson

Everyone was busy doing activities that involved pulleys,incllined planes, levers, screws, gears and wheels. Thanks Kelsey for the great lessons.

Last day of term

We were very lucky to get such a stunning day for the last day of term 1. Even better we had parents to help pump up the new balls for us. Some children chose to play on the courts and others enjoyed the activities inside the classrooms. Happy holidays everyone.

Painting Lesson with Sally

We were lucky today that Sally came in and took Rooms 5 and 6 for a painting lesson. Everyone learnt how to hold a paintbrush correctly and how to use white and black paint to lighten and darken a primary colour. Thanks Sally.

Football Lesson

This morning the year 2 students had a special lesson with Mainland football coaches. It was a bit cold at first but we all soon warmed up when we started moving around with the balls. We are looking forward to some more skill sessions next term.

A big thank you to the parents who helped some children plant out the planter boxes on Monday. Look out for some lovely bulbs this spring.

Goodbye and Good Luck Miss Miller

After weeks helping out in Room 7 we have had to say goodbye to Miss Miller. We would like to wish her all the best in the future. Everyone enjoyed the fruit kebabs we made for her on the last afternoon.

It was great getting started on the PMP programme again. We really appreciate the help from parents to successfully run the sessions.
